Mr. Vaibhav Rundwal is an officer of the Indian Economic Service (IES), belonging to the 2012 batch. Prior to joining the Indian Economic Service, Mr. Rundwal worked in the private sector as a Business Analyst and in the Reserve Bank of India as a Manager.
He possesses extensive experience in international negotiations, having spent seven years working on Bilateral Investment Treaties and Comprehensive Trade and Investment Agreements. During this time, he served as both Deputy Director and Joint Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. Mr. Rundwal has also handled disputes arising from International Investment Agreements, including those involving international arbitration.
As Assistant Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Rundwal played a key role in G20 Finance Track issues during the Turkish and Chinese Presidencies. He also contributed significantly to shaping issues of the global economy within the G20 Working Group on Framework for Strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth, where India held the chair position. Additionally, Mr. Rundwal worked in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs during the implementation of the Companies Act 2013, notably contributing to the High Level Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility in 2015.
