Introduction to Data Driven Governance

Dr. Poornima Dore, Head of Data Driven Governance at Tata Trusts, presented to the DMEO team on the principles, priorities, projects and approaches to data driven governance as designed and implemented by Tata Trusts. She covered various partnerships with central and State governments, emphasising the importance of participatory rural appraisal mechanisms, involving communities in data decision making, operationalizing modular systems and SOPs for training, data collection, tracking and review, etc. Examples at the district level included Tata Trusts' work on the Aspirational Districts Programme and on district budgeting, while at the block and village level, the DELTA and DELTA+ programmes were covered, along with the Village Development Plans.
