Work Experience

Dr. Monika Kulshreshtha has more than 6 years of research and analytical experience in the field of Anthropology.  She worked in the following organizations:

  • March 2023 – May 2023: Performance Analyst-Anthropometry at Sports Authority of India, Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, New Delhi. Her work focussed on conducting Anthropometric assessments of various NCOE and elite-level athletes to monitor their growth, improve their body composition, and enhance overall performance. Additionally, she was the central subject coordinator for the Sports Anthropometry department across India. During her tenure, she developed the SOP manual for the Department of Sports Anthropometry alongside delivering lectures and providing hands-on training on Sports Anthropometry to diploma coaches.

 

  • March 2021-March 2023: Sports Scientist (Anthropometrist Grade II) at Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhash Regional Centre, Lucknow. Her work focussed on conducting Anthropometric assessments of various NCOE and elite-level athletes for enhancing their performance. She was also involved in setting up the Human Performance Lab as well as managing the Athlete Monitoring systems and NSRS Portal for tests data storage, management, and analysis.
  • December 2016-March 2021: UGC-Research scholar (JRF-SRF) in the Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi. During her Ph.D., she has done pioneering work on Kathak dancers' physical and mental health by taking insights from three fields- Kinanthropometry, sport psychology, and occupational health. Her research proposed dance as a therapeutic tool for improving overall physical fitness, reducing obesity and hypertension, combating mental disorders in the general population, and providing valuable professional and educational information to enhance dancers’ occupational health. Her work has been published in various high-impact factor journals.
