Shyam is a dedicated professional with relevant experience in socio-economic studies and
policy analysis. Before joining DMEO, he served as a Research Associate and Research
Assistant at the A. N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies in Patna. In this role, he worked on the
study project “Social Impact Assessment of Land Acquisition” in Bhabhua, Kaimur, Bihar,
where he assessed the socio-economic impacts of land acquisition on local communities. He
was also involved in the project “Socio-Economic Valuation of Wetlands in Bihar: A Case
Study of Kabartal,” funded by the ICSSR, New Delhi.
Prior to this, he worked as a Research Associate at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good
Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA) in Bhopal, a think tank organisation for the
Government of Madhya Pradesh. Here, he played a key role in the project titled
“Implementation of Tribal-Sub Plan in Madhya Pradesh,” conducting quantitative and
qualitative research to enhance the socio-economic development of tribal communities in
the region.
Shyam has also worked on academic discourse on migration through his work on a paper
titled “A Study of Out-migration from Bihar: Causes, Consequences, and Policy Responses.”
His areas of interest include socio-economic development and policy analysis to enhance
governance and socio-economic outcomes.
