Consumer Pyramids Household Survey by CMIE

Dr Kaushik Krishnan is Chief Economist at the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). Dr Krishnan presented on the geographical coverage, data capture, sampling size and questionnaires for the Consumer Pyramids Household Survey conducted by CMIE. 

The survey collects data on household incomes, or household expense details, on a regular basis - decomposed by rural-urban, states, or major cities of India. Consumer Pyramids also throws light on the size and share of the Indian household wallet, estimates penetration of goods, services and assets in various states and their sub-regions, including over 300 cities.
