Lokesh Kumar is a development professional with experience in research-based advocacy and data analysis. His research and focus areas encompass livelihoods, rural development, community organizations, and property rights in natural resources. Before joining DMEO, he served as a research analyst at the Academy of Management Studies (AMS), where he played a key role in designing and executing evaluation studies of various themes, including WASH, livelihoods, employment, and financial inclusion etc. Notable projects from his tenure include collaborating with the National Skill Development Council International (NSDCI) on a scoping study evaluating the international mobility of labor from the Varanasi region and providing valuable insights to NSDCI for setting up the Skill India International Centre at Varanasi. Furthermore, he undertook performance evaluations of regional water supply schemes across 14 states, commissioned by the DDWS under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Additionally, he conducted an endline survey for the JOHAR scheme, a World Bank-funded project for the Government of Jharkhand
