Vasudha is an Urban Planner by profession and pursued her Bachelor of Planning and Masters of Planning with specialisation in Urban Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
Vasudha Sharma is an Urban Planner. Her interests are in the fields of public policy, urban governance, transportation, and water, and has a little over 2 years of experience. She was previously an India Smart Cities Fellow at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, which was overseen by the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA). She was a member of "Team Activate," which was successful in implementing their product "Activate Public Spaces," a plugin to the Indore Smart City's 311 app aimed at identifying underutilised spaces in the city, crowdsourcing ideas from citizens for the development of identified spaces, and crowdfunding resources, thereby assisting Indore Municipal Corporation in reinventing and prioritising the development of such spaces. The product so developed and piloted in the Indore city can be scaled up and replicated in all of India's smart cities!
Following that, she worked as an Associate Consultant at Knight Frank India in the Government Infrastructure Advisory vertical, where she was responsible for the master planning of Multi-modal Logistics Parks as well as the modernization and monetisation of warehouses in India.
She was also a Researcher with the Water Security and Sustainable Development Hub Project, which was funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), India Collaboratory at the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, where she was involved in extensive research on 'Water Values.' Before that, she worked as an intern with the National Institute of Urban Affairs and assisted in developing a knowledge product on Urban River Management as a part of a project under National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). As an intern, she has also briefly worked with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and NITI Aayog.
Vasudha Sharma is an alumna of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She holds a degree in Masters of Planning, with a specialisation in Urban Planning. She hopes to extend her horizons and contribute more effectively to India's urban growth by joining the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office, NITI Aayog.
