Nidhi Sharma

Nidhi is an avid development research enthusiast and has nearly 3 years of work experience, first with a not-for-profit think-tank Public Affairs Centre (PAC) for about 2.5 years and then the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

At PAC, Nidhi worked on multiple projects evaluating interventions for vulnerable communities - from construction workers to women and children and SCs/STs- in collaboration with select Departments of the Government of Karnataka, with a focus on the Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics (PPMS) Department. She was stationed in Shillong as part of a knowledge partnership with the Government of Meghalaya to assess human development parameters in the State. As co-author of PAC’s flagship report Public Affairs Index in 2022, Nidhi oversaw Natural Language Processing-based efforts in analysing narratives to qualitatively complement the ranking of States. At NSDC, Nidhi undertook research pertaining to alternative financing for skilling, mapped high-frequency indicators of economic activity and tracked developments in the skilling ecosystem.

Her research interests surround sustainable development, public finance, monitoring and evaluation and social statistics
